I would like to thank Dr. Jonathan Frederick Walz for his support throughout the thesis process. He has been instrumental in helping me understand Art History, specifically in the areas of “Primitivism” and “Orientalism.” Over the past three months, I have gained a deep understanding of these important topics, and my perspective has evolved from novice to well informed. I appreciate his input on my research thesis topic, ' The Indigenous Imazighen Women of Morocco: Their Role in Preserving Their Culture and Identity in the Wake of Colonialism and Orientalism. 'He served as my Chair for the Art History portion of my thesis project.
I thank Professor James DaVania and Professor Peter Cotroneo for their support in the areas of studio and digital art. They have made great suggestions and asked thought-provoking questions that made me think about the Medium the Moroccan artist Talal used when she created these paintings.
Professor DaVania served as my Chair for the studio portion of my thesis project, which entailed creating a triptych of paintings that, based on my research, most accurately captured the Berber women of Morocco in terms of their cultural preservation.
I appreciate my committee for their responsive, expertise and helpful feedback!
